Since 1966, The Oakridge Optimist Baseball Association has been operated by The Optimist Club of Oakridge Acres Inc. Our baseball program is one of two sporting programs offered by the Optimist Club which also includes soccer. The Oakridge Optimist Baseball Executive is a board of dedicated people comprised mainly of volunteers from the Oakridge community who believe in the development of youth within the sport of baseball. Interested in being a Coach in 2012?
Several of the 2012 Season Competitive Head Coaches have been determined. It's not too late though. If you want to coach a competitive team there are still a few positions available. Complete the required forms (application and a volunteer police record check) and submit your application as soon as possible.
Coaching applications for all House League teams are also being accepted. House League Head Coaches have until April 15, 2012 to apply. Anyone interested in being the Head Coach for any team must submit an application and a volunteer police record check through London Police Services by this date. 2011 Larry Fisher “Coach of the Year” Award goes to John Parent.
John began his coaching in the Oakridge House League program. When Oakridge decided to start a select program, John stepped up as an assistant the first year before taking over the team as the Head coach the following season. Over the past 3 seasons (2 as Head Coach of Mosquito Select & PeeWee Select Head Coach), John has helped Oakridge build a strong Select program that both the players and the organization can be proud of.
Every year the Oakridge Optimist Baseball Board receives praise from parents and request from players to once again play for Coach John Parent.
