Volunteer Screening in 2010
2010 will mark the fifth year that the Oakridge Optimist Baseball Association is screening volunteers.
The safety and development of our participants in our program is paramount and in that focus, OOBA and our parent club Optimist Club of Oakridge Acres Inc. have developed policy in regards to screening the volunteers who interact with the participants of our programs. Since 2006, volunteers were required to comply with this initiative and this will continue in 2010.
For new volunteers or anyone wishing clarification, the following documents are listed to assist you. The power point presentation explains it step by step. Please take the time to view the presentation and read the policies.
Simply put, every volunteer in our organization must submit a volunteer application and a police records screening check. The OOBA Coach Selection Policy requires all applicants for the position of Head Coach to submit their PRS with their coach application by the respective deadline for each program. For boys and girls competitive programs the deadline is January 15th and boys and girls house league baseball and fastball, T-Ball and Blast Ball programs the deadline remains April 15th.
In the event a submission of a PRS occurred within the preceding four years, it is not necessary to submit another PRS with a coach application as the PRS is on file.
Instead please complete the Attestation form and have it verified. Please write on your volunteer application that you have previously submitted your PRS.
